"Our club championship is one day of stroke play qualifying and three days of match play. The most harrowing feat was the final match where I had a tough time finding my swing the front nine and was four down on the eleventh tee box. I was able to stay focused on the process, instead of the results, and played the next seven holes in even par to square the match on the 18th tee.

"I birdied the 18th to win the championship. What a great feeling it was to overcome such a deficit so late in the match.

"Thoughts for the Holiday Season"

With the golf season slowing down and the Holiday Season upon us, now is a good time to take a breather, give thanks and reflect on the changes that we still need to make in our lives and the fun game of golf. If you are new to my newsletter and are anxious to read mental golf tips, there are a lot of tips in my archive to keep you busy during the holidays :-)

To those of you that have been reading my mental tip newsletters and using my book and CD, you have to realize by now that my unique mental training program WORKS for life as well as golf. The most important thing that I try to do is increase your awareness that there is a cause and effect for all of your thoughts and actions.

In the world of golf, the mind/body connection does not lie and the feedback is immediate. In the game of life, the rules are not as clear-cut and the feedback usually is much slower. The Holiday Season gives us time not only to give thanks for all of our blessings, but also to reflect on our lives and what we want to accomplish.

A good place to start is with the Thanksgiving holiday, which has already passed. However, make it a point between now and New Year’s Day to spend more time in your thoughts and prayers giving thanks for what blessings you currently have before asking for more favors or things.

It’s like the man who felt bad because he didn’t have any shoes until he met a man without any feet. Make sure that you take the time to give thanks for what you have, and smell the roses while you are still on the right side of the grass.

My mission is to help you lower your score by increasing your awareness of how your mind processes information and providing you with insights on how to improve your mental game.

It is important for my new subscribers to get up to speed as quickly as possible. If you truly desire to lower your score, read my book and listen to my CD (part one) before and (part two) after you play as well as read my mental tip newsletters.

Once you have done your homework, you will have laid the foundation to have one of the best mental games around. The next step is to continue to work on improving your mental game (polish your wheel) until these insights become an instinctive part of your mental makeup.

My advice to my old subscribers is to keep polishing your wheel if you want your scores to continue to fall. Since my mental tips are designed to enhance and reinforce your understanding of "The Mental Keys," keep reading them as well as rereading my book from time to time.
